The Founder: Nimrod
NIMROD — The First Globalist

His name means "rebel" or "we will rebel." Scripture calls him "a mighty hunter before the LORD" (Genesis 10:9)—interpreted by ancient scholars as "in defiance of" the LORD. Nimrod founded Babel, Erech, Accad, Calneh, and Nineveh. He was the first to establish a unified world system in opposition to God's command to "fill the earth."
The Three Goals of Babel
1. "A TOWER WHOSE TOP MAY REACH UNTO HEAVEN"
The Goal: Accessing God's realm through human effort and technology.
The Spirit: Humanity attempting to ascend to the divine through their own works—the same temptation from Eden: "ye shall be as gods."
Modern Equivalent: Transhumanism, life extension technology, neural interfaces, genetic engineering—all attempting to transcend human limitations and achieve godhood through technology.
2. "LET US MAKE US A NAME"
The Goal: Self-glorification, self-deification, rejecting God's authority.
The Spirit: Humanity declaring independence from God, creating their own identity apart from their Creator.
Modern Equivalent: Self-directed evolution, redefining human nature, secular humanism declaring "man is the measure of all things."
3. "LEST WE BE SCATTERED ABROAD"
The Goal: Resisting God's command to "fill the earth" (Genesis 9:1).
The Spirit: Unified rebellion—strength in numbers against God's decreed order.
Modern Equivalent: Globalization, elimination of national sovereignty, one-world government, erasing the boundaries God established.
God's Response
God's judgment accomplished two things:
- Confused their language — One language became many, preventing unified rebellion
- Scattered humanity — Establishing nations and ethnic divisions across the earth
Every globalist initiative today is an attempt to reverse God's judgment at Babel—reunifying languages, erasing national boundaries, and consolidating power.
II. BABYLON IN DANIEL'S STATUE
When Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of the great statue, the HEAD OF GOLD represented Babylon. But this was more than just a historical kingdom—Babylon represents a system and a spirit that persists through all subsequent empires.

The 10 toes represent the final configuration of world power—the completion of what Nimrod started—unified global government that will give its authority to the Beast.
THE CRITICAL CONNECTION
Revelation calls the end-times world system "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT" (Rev 17:5). It is "Mystery" because it is the same Babylonian spirit from Nimrod, now fully manifested in its final form. The statue begins with Babylon and ends with Babylon's spiritual successor—the Beast system.
